Russian VFD-VU meter
I bought a bunch of them at eBay. They all need some work, there is one FET missing. I did not have a KP303B so I used a BF256C. The FET forms a constant current source that defines the 0-point of the vu meter. I think a BF245 would do also ... The spec sheet says that you need 6.3V AC current for heating of the VFD. I used a 5V DC and it works well. Besides the 5V you need +-15V dc regulated for the opamps and the logic chips. The +15V is also used for anode voltage of the VFD tube. [ voir sur Youtube.com ]
