This is prototype #3 in our current line of work. The first two, while fun, weren't video worthy. (except for the blooper reel) Stay with us and we'll eventually bring you bigger, badder projects. Yes, it uses black powder, yes it's hyper sonic, but we haven't chronographed it yet. Range is about 950 yards. Beijing restores traditional past
As China modernizes, it faces an ongoing challenge to preserve its rich cultural legacy and historical sites -- in the face of onrushing development.
This temple stands next to the National Stadium, a new venue built for the Beijing Games. The planned site had to be moved 100 meters so the temple could be preserved.
The current restoration of Beijing's hutongs, or old alleys, is part of the government's campaign to restore the ancient capital's history. [

Current Affairs - Jensen Model 15
Just some quick power testing on the Jensen 15 with the previously used apparatus. The variable resistor starts at 1000 ohms and is slowly wound down to zero. Voltage across the resistor is indicated on the black meter, and current on the red one.
I did not think to meter the max voltage of the generator, so will have to do that another time. [

Australian Women Edge Team USA
Australia won the women's 4x100-meter freestyle relay final to successfully defend the title they won in Montreal two years ago. Libby Lenton, Melanie Schlanger, Shayne Reese and Jodie Henry won the gold in a combined time of three minutes, 35.48 seconds, just 0.26 outside the world record. The United States finished second in 3:35.68 with the Netherlands taking the bronze in 3:36.81. The current world record holders Germany finished fourth. (WCSN, WCSN.com) [

Bike Crash Aftermath - Stage 1 Tour of California
The aftermath of a crash in Santa Rosa at the end of Stage 1 of the Tour of California. The crash happened some 10 or so meters in front of where I was standing. This video shows where most of the riders stopped sliding and the rest of the peloton attempted to not ride over them. You'll see the race leader, Levi Leipheimer, as well has current US Champ, George Hincapie, trying to walk through the mess. [
